Cognia Accredited Online Homeschool

We are proud to be a COGNIA-accredited institution.

COGNIA is an independent, non-profit organisation that specialises in the accreditation of educational institutions. They provide a comprehensive evaluation of schools and educational institutions to ensure that they meet the highest standards of quality and excellence in education. COGNIA accreditation is a mark of distinction that demonstrates an institution's commitment to providing students with a world-class education.

During the accreditation process, our institution was subjected to a rigorous and thorough evaluation of our academic programs, faculty qualifications, student support services, and learning resources.

No other online school in South Africa combines international institutional accreditation, two international examination board credentials, and registration with both South African examination bodies. This means your child's education is validated at every level, from the institution itself to the qualifications they earn.

SACAI Registered Online Homeschool

CambriLearn is SACAI-registered.

SACAI stands for the South African Comprehensive Assessment Institute, which is an examination board accredited by Umalusi, the Quality Council for General and Further Education and Training in South Africa.

CambriLearn is registered with SACAI to offer the South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) pathway. Being registered with SACAI means our students can enter for accredited examinations through SACAI, which are quality assured by Umalusi.

This ensures that students studying through CambriLearn have access to recognised assessments that meet the standards set by Umalusi.

Pearson Edexcel Accredited Online School

CambriLearn is proud to be accredited by Pearson Edexcel.

The Pearson accreditation process is a rigorous and thorough evaluation that ensures that educational institutions meet the highest standards of quality and excellence.

In order to receive our Pearson accreditation, we underwent a comprehensive review process that included an assessment of our academic programs, faculty qualifications, student support services, and learning resources.

Students who attend Pearson-accredited institutions can be confident that they are receiving an education that meets the highest international standards, preparing them for success in their academic and professional endeavours.

NCAA Approved Online Homeschool

We are proud to be both NCAA Approved and NCAA Eligible.

Being NCAA Approved means that our courses meet the rigorous academic standards set by the National Collegiate Athletic Association, ensuring that our curriculum supports student-athletes in their educational journey.

NCAA Eligible status indicates that student-athletes enrolled through CambriLearn can count their course work toward meeting the NCAA's academic requirements for college sports participation.

This dual recognition underscores our commitment to providing a high-quality education that empowers student-athletes to excel both academically and athletically.

The Independent Examinations Board (IEB) is a South African assessment body accredited by Umlasi. The IEB is recognised both locally and internationally for it's rigorous academic standards.

CambriLearn is registered with the IEB to offer students the IEB curriculum pathway, ensuring they receive an education benchmarked against some of the highest standards in the country.

Being IEB-registered means CambriLearn students can enter for accredited IEB examinations, which are widely respected by South African universities and recognised globally.

This guarantees that CambriLearn learners gain access to credible, future-ready qualifications that open doors to tertiary study and career opportunities world-wide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything parents need to know about CambriLearn's accreditations, registrations, and what they mean for your child's future.

CambriLearn holds 5 accreditations and registrations — Cognia, Pearson Edexcel, NCAA, SACAI, and IEB — making it one of the most comprehensively accredited online schools available globally. Cognia accreditation provides international institutional quality assurance across more than 100 countries. Pearson Edexcel accreditation enables internationally recognised British curriculum qualifications. NCAA approval supports student-athletes pursuing US collegiate sports through our American K-12 curriculum pathway. SACAI and IEB registration provides access to South Africa's two main examination pathways for the National Senior Certificate.

Yes. CambriLearn is accredited by Cognia, one of the world's largest accreditation bodies serving over 40,000 institutions across more than 100 countries. Cognia accreditation evaluates the school as an institution — its teaching quality, governance, student support, and continuous improvement — providing the deepest level of independent quality assurance available. CambriLearn is also accredited by Pearson Edexcel, whose qualifications are recognised by universities internationally. Together, these credentials mean your child's education is recognised whether you're based in South Africa, the UAE, Europe, the United States, or anywhere else.

CambriLearn offers multiple curriculum pathways, each leading to internationally recognised qualifications. Students on the British International curriculum receive Pearson Edexcel certificates (IGCSE, AS, and A Level) accepted by universities in the UK, Australia, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and South Africa. Students completing CAPS or IEB pathways write examinations through SACAI or the IEB, both accredited by Umalusi, and receive the National Senior Certificate recognised by all South African universities. Students on the American K-12 pathway earn a US high school diploma from a Cognia-accredited institution, recognised by American universities. South African students on the US pathway can apply to local universities through the USAf Matriculation Board exemption process.

Yes. CambriLearn's American K-12 curriculum pathway includes NCAA-approved courses, and CambriLearn is both NCAA Approved and NCAA Eligible. Student-athletes completing our US curriculum can count their coursework toward meeting the NCAA's academic requirements for Division I, II, and III college sports participation in the United States. This applies to families based anywhere in the world — NCAA eligibility is not limited to US-based students. The NCAA recommends registering with the Eligibility Center before Grade 9.

Accreditation and registration serve different purposes, and both matter. Accreditation (such as Cognia and Pearson Edexcel) evaluates the school as an institution — its teaching quality, student support, learning resources, and academic programmes undergo rigorous independent review. Registration (such as SACAI and IEB) means the school is authorised to enter students for nationally recognised examinations through that assessment body. Think of it this way: accreditation assures the quality of the education your child receives day to day, while registration ensures the qualifications they earn are officially certified. CambriLearn holds both types — international institutional accreditation and examination body registrations.

Yes. CambriLearn's Cognia accreditation is widely recognised across the Middle East, where Cognia accredits numerous schools in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and beyond. Students on our British International curriculum receive Pearson Edexcel qualifications accepted by universities throughout the region and globally. CambriLearn also operates a hybrid education hub in Dubai, combining our online platform with in-person support for families in the Emirates.

One of the key benefits of attending a Cognia-accredited school is credit transferability. Because Cognia accreditation is recognised in over 100 countries, your child's academic records and transcripts carry credibility internationally. Families who relocate — whether from South Africa to the UAE, from Europe to the United States, or any other combination — find that credentials from Cognia-accredited institutions transfer more smoothly than those from unaccredited or locally-recognised-only providers. CambriLearn's multiple curriculum options also allow families to switch pathways if their circumstances change, without changing schools.

Yes. CambriLearn is registered with both SACAI (South African Comprehensive Assessment Institute) and the IEB (Independent Examinations Board) — both accredited by Umalusi, the Quality Council for General and Further Education and Training in South Africa. Students completing the CAPS or KABV curriculum through CambriLearn write their NSC examinations through SACAI. Students on the IEB pathway write IEB examinations. Both qualifications lead to the National Senior Certificate, which is recognised by all South African universities and meets the requirements for the national matric qualification.
